And weatherbeaten shoes,
dragging through gravel;
Heels dug in
almost vanishing like
rainbows after a downpour.
With dangerous smiles
almost smirk like;
Clung on
Like dew on grass blades.
In the twilight,
as the morning falls away.
Dwindling lives of stars
amidst dreams and drams.
Cowering flowers with
tales of foxes and spiders.
Of tender loving care
Margarine on toast,
empty teacups with
your lipstick marks.
Still unwashed with tea crumbs.
